What is MEES?

MEES, or Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards, is a regulation that sets minimum energy efficiency levels for commercial and residential properties in the UK. These standards aim to improve the energy efficiency of buildings, reduce carbon emissions, and lower energy costs for occupants.

Why is a MEES Report Important?

A MEES Report is crucial for commercial property owners and landlords. It not only ensures compliance with the law but also highlights areas where energy efficiency can be improved, potentially saving money in the long run.

Who needs a MEES Report?

Any commercial property owner or landlord in the UK is required to have a MEES Report. This includes anyone who is leasing out a property, whether it's a single building or a large commercial estate.

      Our MEES Report Service

Our MEES Report service is comprehensive and tailored to your specific needs. We assess your property's current energy efficiency, provide a detailed report outlining areas for improvement, and offer practical solutions to meet the MEES regulations.

What is the process of getting a MEES Report?

      1. Property Assessment: One of our energy assessors will visit your property to conduct an energy efficiency assessment. This involves examining various elements of the property, such as the type of construction, insulation, heating and cooling systems, lighting, and more.
      2. Data Analysis: After the assessment, the energy assessor will analyse the data to determine the property's energy efficiency. This is done using our proprietary software that calculates the energy performance of the property.
      3. MEES Report Creation: At this stage, we will then create a MEES report based on the findings. This report will include the property's energy efficiency rating, potential energy savings, and recommendations for improving energy efficiency.
      4. Report Delivery: The MEES report is then delivered to the property owner or landlord. It will detail whether the property meets the minimum energy efficiency standards (an EPC rating of E or above). If it doesn't, the report will provide recommendations on how to improve the property's energy efficiency.
      5. Implementation of Recommendations: If the property does not meet the MEES, the property owner or landlord will need to implement the recommended improvements. This could involve upgrading insulation, installing energy-efficient lighting, or improving heating and cooling systems.
      6. Reassessment: After the improvements have been made, the property may need to be reassessed to ensure it now meets the MEES. A new report will be issued reflecting the improvements and new energy efficiency rating.
      7. Ongoing Compliance: Once the property meets the MEES, the property owner or landlord must ensure ongoing compliance. This means maintaining the energy efficiency of the property and having new assessments done if significant changes are made to the property.
